Doctoral Fellow

Wenxin Chen is a PhD student in Computer Science at Cornell Tech, advised by Fei Wang and Kyra Gan. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from Sun Yat-sen University and his master’s degree in Biomedical Informatics from Harvard Medical School. His research lies at the intersection of causal inference and machine learning, with a particular focus on healthcare. He develops machine learning methods for reliable treatment effect estimation from observational data, with the goal of supporting trustworthy clinical decision-making. As a DLI Fellow, he hopes to explore how treatment effect estimation and data-driven decision-support methods can be made more reliable, transparent, and responsible in high-stakes settings.
