Matt Franchi

Doctoral Fellow

Matt Franchi (he/him) is a PhD candidate in Computer Science at Cornell Tech. His research merges large visual datasets, computer vision, and computational social science to study problems in urban environments. This includes analyzing disparities in police vehicle deployments, burdens imposed by sidewalk scaffolding, and urban street flooding. As a DLI Doctoral Fellow, he hopes to rigorously investigate the privacy implications and information flows of public surveillance, especially as new data streams like large-scale vehicle dashcam data emerge.
