Sunoo Park
DLI Postdoctoral Fellow
Sunoo Park does research in computer science (cryptography/security) and related law and policy issues. She is a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell Tech’s Digital Life Initiative, hosted by Helen Nissenbaum and James Grimmelmann. Her work is supported by a 2021 Computing Innovation Fellowship.
Sunoo recently completed her J.D. at Harvard Law School. Before studying law, she completed her Ph.D. in computer science at MIT, advised by Shafi Goldwasser. During her Ph.D. studies, she was in the Cryptography and Information Security group within the Theory of Computation group at MIT, and also affiliated with MIT’s Internet Policy Research Initiative and with the Digital Currency Initiative (DCI) at the MIT Media Lab. Between 2017–20, she was a Fellow and then an Affiliate at the Berkman-Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, and between 2018–20 she also did postdoctoral research at the MIT Media Lab’s DCI. She received her B.A. in Computer Science at the University of Cambridge.
